Description
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA, CEACAM5, and CD66e) belongs to the CEA subgroup of 7 closely related molecules (CD66a-e, CGM2, CGM7) within the CEA Gene Family, which is part of the immonoglobulin superfamily of glycoproteins. It has been found to be associated with various types of cancers, particularly colorectal carcinoma, and developed to be a molecular target for cancer diagnosis and therapy.
