| Description | HDHD2 produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 279 amino acids (1-259a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 30.6kDa.HDHD2 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. |
| Expression host | Escherichia Coli. |
| Formulation | The HDHD2 protein solution (1mg/1ml) is formulated in 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.1M NaCl, 1mM DTT, and 10% glycerol. |
| Protein Background | HDHD2 is a member of the HAD-like hydrolase superfamily which includes L-2-haloacid dehalogenase, epoxide hydrolases and phosphatases. There are two active sites in HDHD2 – an L-2-haloacid dehalogenase and a carboxylate group. The L-2-haloacid dehalogenase active site catalyzes the hydrolytic dehalogenation of D- and L-2-haloalkanoic acids, producing L- and D-2-hydroxyalkanoic acids. |
| Purity | Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. |
| Reagent Appearance | Sterile Filtered clear solution. |
| Storage | Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. |
