Description
Background
Cyclophilin B, PPIB, Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase B, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PPIB gene. Cyclophilins, such as Cyclophilin B, bind the immunosuppressive drug cyclosporin A (CsA) with high affinity. Somatic cell mapping of the human Cyclophilin B gene (PPIB) to chromosome 15. Cyclophilin B is a functional regulator of hepatitis C virus RNA polymerase.Cyclophilin B interacts with HCV RNA polymerase NS5B to directly stimulate its RNA binding activity.
